This image is based on a historic 1895 photo of a ship run aground in south Wellfleet Massachusetts. The four masted schooner, the Charles Campbell, ran aground there due to thick fog, though later was floated off. I took some artistic license with the masts and the people on shore. The sepia tones and subtle sky coloring suggests the late 19th century date. The overall misty atmosphere leaves room for the imagination.
